Jersey City police arrested a 22-year-old Clarke Avenue man shortly after midnight on Monday after witnesses saw him point a weapon, which was later determined to be a BB gun at an unknown female at a bar on Clendenny and West Side Avenues.
Kelvin T. Gonzalez-Lynch, who was arrested on Union Street near West Side Avenue, was charged with unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for unlawful purposes and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, according to Jersey City official.
Officers on patrol spotted Gonzalez-Lynch on Union Street a few blocks from the bar fitting the description of the man police were seeking from the bar. When officers approached Gonzalez-Lynch the saw what appeared to be a handgun protruding from his waistband. The officers recovered a black Colt 1911 replica KWC 6mm BB gun and placed Gonzalez-Lynch under arrest.
