Female street brawl in Hoboken ends with one aggravated assault arrest

HOBOKEN – A 22-year-old female was arrested on aggravated assault charges after she allegedly sprayed another female with pepper spray during a street brawl.

According to officials, at around 1:53 a.m. on June 5th a large group fight was observed outside of 214 Washington Street. The officers separated the parties involved and began interviewing witnesses.

A on-site investigation revealed that 22-year-old Joslyn Ayala of Jersey City pepper sprayed a female victim following a verbal and physical altercation with all females involved. The victim suffered a temporary loss of vision to her right eye which required medical attention.

Several other individuals involved filed simple assault summons complaints against one another on scene as a result of the incident.

Ayala was charged with aggravated assault, possession of a weapon for unlawful purpose, and unlawful possession of a weapon. She was later released on her own recognizance with a future court date.
