KEARNY – Kearny police arrested four men in separate incidents this week, according to officials.
On March 2nd at around 1:45 p.m. Kearny Police Department responded to an arrest request from North Arlington for a Kearny man with an outstanding MV warrant, according to officials. Stefan Florea, 24 of Kearny, was arrested at his home and also charged with resisting arrest after he tried to run from police. According to police reports, Florea met with officials in the hallway of the apartment. When officials informed him that the had an open warrant he ran down the hallway into another apartment and slammed the door. Police then breached the door to the apartment and placed the Florea under arrest.
On March 4th at around 2:30 p.m. Kearny Police Department responded to an arrest request from the Bergen County Sheriff’s Officer for a Kearny man with an outstanding contemplative court warrant, according to officials. Edwin Gonzales, 29 of Kearny, was arrested at his home on Grant Ave.
On March 4th shortly after 11:00 a.m. officers responded to a manufacturing business on the 900th block of Belleville Turnpike on report of a workplace stabbing. The victim, a 31-year-old male from Belleville, was allegedly stabbed in his upper right arm following a workplace dispute, according to officials. When police arrived the victim was profusely bleeding, according to police reports. Arrested was 62-year-old Jose Aguilar of Belleville. Aguilar is facing aggravated assault, possession of a weapon, and possession of a weapon for unlawful purpose charges. His bail was set at $20,000.
On March 6th at around 10:30 a.m. Officials received a call regarding a car blocking a residential driveway near Bergen Ave and Windsor St. Upon arrival, police saw a 2002 Ford Taurus blocking the driveway. They observed a man, who is very well known to Kearny Police, according to Police Chief Dowie, approach the vehicle and start to drive away. Officers were able to stop the vehicle and learned that the man had a suspended license. Juan Hugo Villanueva, 23 of Kearny, was placed under arrest and and was issued summons for failing to surrender his suspended drivers license, driving with a suspended license, and blocking the driveway.
