Hoboken man who allegedly used a Stun Gun against Off-Duty Police Officer has been arrested

A man who allegedly used a stun gun against an Off_Duty Police Officer was arrested around 6.18pm yesterday. Miguel Figueroa a 37 year old Hoboken man was arrested yesterday afternoon at his home, after Detectives from the Hoboken PD working with the Hudson County Prosecutor’s office were able to identified him.

The incident took place  during the early hours of Saturday October 31st. According to the Police Report, the Off-Duty Officer was at Rome Pizzeria when a male sat next to him. The seat was already being used by another person who had just stood up to get his food. While a dialogue about the seat was discussed, the Off-Duty Officer was surrounded by other males. The defendant then stepped in front of the officer  and pressed an object against his torso area giving him an electrical shock. The officer, while still in pain exited the establishment to request uniform police to respond to the scene.

Once an investigation took place an arrest warrant was completed by the Detective Bureau with a search warrant. The warrant was conducted at Mr Figueroa’s residence and based on the search the additional charges were brought against the defendant.

Initial Charges

Aggravated Assault / Possession of a Stun Gun / Possession of a weapon for unlawful use.


Subsequent Charges

Possession of CDS-Oxycodone / Possession of anabolic steroid/testosterone and possession of CDS steroid / Possession of hypodermic needle.

Defendant was given bail of $42,000 with 10% option.
