Another Police Officer struck while breaking a large fight, this time in Hoboken

Early sunday morning around 3 am, Hoboken Police Officers were dispatched on a report of a fight, when they arrived, they observed large group of about 10-15 males fighting outside Cluck-U chicken. Several commands to stop the fighting were met with negative results. Several more officers arrived to assist as backups.

Officers then began to attempt to break of the fighting and separate the combatants. As this was being conducted an unknown male intervened and struck another male with a closed fist while in the presence of the officers. This male then began to run away from the scene. He was eventually stopped by P.O. John Quinones and identified as Wascar Batista-Carty Age 30 from Weehawken, NJ . 

As the officers continued to attempt to break up the fight, another defendant identified as Jamal Walton, Age 23 from East Orange , struck Officer John Quinones with a closed fist in the mouth causing a laceration and bleeding. He was immediately placed under arrest.

Lastly, a defendant identified as Aladjuan Jones, Age 23 from Skillman, NJ refused to leave the area after repeated commands to disperse, he was also placed under arrest.

Aladjuan Jones, Age 23 from Skillman, NJ was charged with Riot: Failure to Disperse/ Issued a Summons and released

Wascar Batista-Carty Age 30 from Weehawkin, NJ was charged with Disorderly Conduct and Obstruction by Flight/ Issued a Summons and released

Jamal Walton, Age 23 from East Orange , NJ was charged with Aggravated Assault on a Police Officer and Disorderly Conduct / Charges were placed on a warrant and he was given a $15,000 bail with a 10% option. He was able to provide bail and released.

Officer Quinones was transported to Hoboken where he received 4 stitches to close the wound.
