Major marijuana odor leads to North Arlington man’s arrest in Harrison

A North Arlington man was busted over the weekend in Harrison for possessing marijuana and Xanax.

Harrison Police conducting a traffic stop on South Fifth Street south of Jersey Street were able to track down the potent raw pot smell by following a silver Acura driven by Samantha Hess.

During questioning Hess implicated her passenger, Victor Villalta as the one with the drugs.

Villalta admitted to the offense saying he had 1/8-ounce bag of marijuana shoved into his underwear.

As he removed the contraband from his pants, deputies noticed another bag containing a Xanax “bar” under his foot.

Early Saturday morning the 20-year-old was charged with one count of possession of a controlled substance under 50 grams and one count of possession of prescription legend drugs.

Villalta was released on a summons to appear in court on December 14.
