New academic program brings a theatrical performance to Weehawken High school for the first time in 15 years

Weehawken High school put on a performance of the play “Snow Angel” making it the first theatrical performance at the school in 15 years. 

The play was directed by Carrena McHugh, the Drama Director at Weehawken high school, but the play was completely ran and performed by the students. Hair, make up, lighting and props were all student ran with supervision.

The student participants ranged from grades 7- 12. They all spent weeks rehearsing for this big debut. 

Mayor Tuner and the Superintendent of schools John Fitzsimons were both very pleased with the play and spoke very positively about the new STEM program that made this production possible. 

The play will be running January 8th and 9th at 7pm at the Weehawken High School and a special performance for the high school students will take place on  Monday during their last period.
