Roque new chair of West New York Democratic Committee

“I’m a supporter of Dr. Mayor (Felix) Roque because he’s done really well for our community,” says Katharine Chao, a new committee person. “In the past four years he’s stabilized taxes, improved the police department and he’s done great things for our beautiful town.”

The mayor is appointed chairman of the West New York Democratic Committee.

“It’s a great honor, a lot of responsibilities and I’m just blessed to have them look at me as their leader,” Roque says.

German Chapin says he’s honored to get involved with the organization.

“That’s the main reason why I did it because he’s (Roque) a great leader,” says Chapin, another new committee person. “I think he has a vision for West New York and I just want to be part of that team where it takes it to the next level.”

As the public safety commissioner, the mayor says he wants to keep crime going down and more boots on the ground.

“I’m so happy to be with my people,” Roque says. “This is the people that elected us, the people that helped us get where we are right now.”
