In what started out as a simple meet and greet for Larry Wainstein, turned into a Sacco rally just outside his North Bergen Home.
Led by Sacco Campaign manager, Paul Swibinski, the protesters gathered across the street from Wainstein’s to shout chants of disapproval. The main chant and source of their protest sounded like the belief that Wainstein does not truly live in North Bergen. Many of the protestors carried signs that had a photo of a home that Wainstein reportedly owns in Franklin Lakes.
When Hudson County TV asked Swibinski about the home issue, he said that there is reason to believe that Wainstein does not live in North Bergen at all. He went on to say that the home in North Bergen was just a front, and bought by Wainstein for just $10.
If these rumors were true, Wainstein would be ineligible to run for Mayor of North Bergen.
Olivia York was able to enter the Wainstein home for an interview, and did see that the home was decorated and appeared to be a family’s home. Wainstein is supported by his wife, two sons, and new baby daughter.
The Mayoral elections for both North Bergen and West New York will take place May 2015.
