UNION CITY – Three women were arrested last Sunday after a physical fight broke out against one other woman around 12:30 a.m. on Palisades Ave.
Onaida D. Yepes Sanchez, 53, of Union City, Lena Maria Yepes, 35, of Union City, and Rosanne Moran, 41, of Jersey City were the charged offenders.
On January 25, 2015, Union City Police arrived to the scene where they saw multiple parties arguing with each other. Police separated the parties, who continued to verbally argue in the presence of the authorities. It was reported that Moran had threatened to shoot the police officers present at the scene.
The victim, a 47-year-old woman from Hoboken was bleeding from lacerations on her head. The three women had allegedly attacked her with a bottle after an argument for unknown reasons. Police were able to review video footage from a home that showed two of attackers repeatedly banging the victim’s head on the ground. The victim was transported to Hoboken Hospital.
Onaida Yepes Sanchez and Lena Yepes were both charged with one count each of aggravated assault and disorderly conduct. Rosanne Moran was charged with one count of aggravated assault, one count of obstruction of law, and one charge of terroristic threats.
The victim has not yet provided a statement to Union City Police.
