A decomposed body found in an abandoned Newark building near the river’s edge on September 18th has been identified as 26-year-old Crystal Passante, a Secaucus native who was reported missing in July, according to our sources. Dental records helped to identify the woman’s body as Crystal Passante, our source said.
Passante was reported missing on July 16th, 2015, only a few days after moving to Newark with her brother to live with their father, a relative told us. She was previously living in Milipitas, California with her boyfriend. She was four months pregnant at the time of her disappearance. She left their home on July 16th and never returned, reports say. She was last seen at 513 Ferry Street in Newark wearing a black leather jacket and carrying a small purse, according to a missing persons flier.
A source told us Passante was deceased for about a month and half and suffered a miscarriage somewhere along the way while missing.
Her cause of death was not clear, sources told us, but reports indicated that no foul play was involved and the family is waiting on autopsy and toxicology screening reports.
Services for Crystal are being arranged by the family.
