UNION CITY – Union City high school was evacuated Wednesday due to a bomb threat; police issued an all-clear after searching the building.
According to sources, a note indicating that someone wanted to blow up the building was dropped on school grounds during the recess period. The students were dismissed early, Justin Mercado from the board of education told us, stating that the safety of the students was most important.
All students were evacuated and police and k-9 searched the building which was deemed free of any threat.
Union City Police, North Hudson Regional Fire Department, Jersey City Police, Port Authority Police, and K-9 were at the scene.
The incident is still under investigation.
