Wanted man from Newark allegedly strikes Secaucus Police Officer during an altercation investigation

According to information given by Secaucus Police Department, on November 1st at 1:35am, in the area of Front st/Minnie Place police responded on a noise complaint. When police arrived an altercation between two male parties were observed. While investigating this altercation one of the male parties identified as 27-year-old male from Newark NJ, Lewis C. Cannon, did strike with a closed fist, the officer at the scene. As a result he was arrested for Aggravated Assault however Cannon resisted the officer from effecting the arrest, and was subsequently further charged with Resisting Arrest. Cannon was found to have three outstanding Failures to Appear warrants out of Newark in the total amount of $1,300.00.
Bail was set at $50,000.00 with NO 10% option.
